About Kensington

Built in 1929, this Spanish Eclectic home features the original double arched entry with original wood door with central arched panel and grilled arched lite.  The red tile roof, stucco exterior, decorative vents and wrought iron detailing all reflect the Spanish Eclectic style.

Recently renovated, the remodeling brought numerous Moorish influences including carved sandstone jalie grilles on balconies, mosharabi window screens and master bath tile imported from Morocco.

The owners found the original wrought iron lighting fixtures hidden in storage in the house and restored them to the glory of yesteryear. The home features an original 20’ vaulted living room ceiling with built in stucco wall sconces, a large upstairs balcony and a spiral staircase.

The owners’ extensive travels are evident in a quirky and personal mix of accessories and one of a kind finds.  A small pie shaped backyard was cleverly designed by Verdant Custom Outdoors to create functional spaces for outdoor dining, barbecuing, fireplace relaxation and even tree house hanging out.

Kitchen, guest bath and upstairs bath tile is in the Malibu tradition and the color palette throughout the home favors bolder earth tones of oranges, greens, blues, golds and browns.
