General Pasqual Ortiz Rubio was the 33rd President of Mexio, and after resigning that position resided in this 1928 Spanish Colonial Revival for several years in the mid-30s.  While this house has not as yet been landmarked, it displays all the hallmarks of a house worthy of designation. From the carefully restored, handpainted celings, door and wall murals, to the tile roof, ornamental rafter tails, decorative vents and deep-set windows and doors, this house reflects the Spanish design of a possible Requa masterpiece.

The house features a wealth of 19th Century Pueblo tiles from Mexico, inside and out.  Rumor has it that General Rubio imported the tiles and artisans to customize the home to accomodate his tastes in the mid 1930s.
